COSMOGONY • Contemporary Dance Festival in Tbilisi

ათი წლის წინ თბილისის თანამედროვე ცეკვის ფესტივალმა ცნობილი შვეიცარიელი ქორეოგრაფის ჟილ ჟობენის  დადგმით Spider Galaxies-ით უმასპინძლა სამეფო უბნის თეატრში მოსულ პირველ მაყურებელს.

ამ წლების განმავლობაში მრავალი რამ შეიცვალა საქართველოშიც და მთელ მსოფლიოშიც, ახალი ტექნოლოგიები თანამედროვე ცეკვის სფეროს განუყოფელ ნაწილად იქცა, ადამიანებმა გარემოზე ზრუნვით უარი თქვეს არასაჭირო ფრენებზე და თავიანთი ხელოვნების წარმოსაჩენად ალტერნატიული გზების ძიება დაიწყეს. ამ მხრივ ერთ-ერთი გამორჩეული აღმოჩნდა სწორედ ჟილ ჟობენი და ჩვენ ფესტივალის 10-ე საიუბილეო გამოშვებას მისი უახლესი დადგმით გავხსნით - ლაივ ციფრული პერფორმანსით სახელად  COSMOGONY.  კოსმოგონია ჟენევის საცეკვაო სტუდიაში შესრულდება და ინტერნეტის მეშვეობით თბილისში ტელეპორტირდება. მაყურებელი მის ცოცხალ შესრულებას კინოაკადემიის დარბაზის ეკრანზე ნახავს.

ჟილ ჟობენი შვეიცარიელი მოცეკვავე, ქორეოგრაფი და რეჟისორია. ის 1995 წლიდან ჰქმნის ქორეოგრაფიულ ნამუშევრებს და დიდი აღიარებით სარგებლობს როგორც კრიტიკოსებს შორის ისე მაყურებელში.  ჟილ ჟობენი მალევე ჩამოყალიბდა ევროპის წამყვან დამოუკიდებელ ქორეოგრაფად. დღემდე მას შექმნილი აქვს  20-ზე მეტი ნამუშევარი, რომელთაგან ზოგიერთი, მათ შორის A+B=X (1997) და Moebius Strip (2001) ითვლება მსოფლიო სასცენო ხელოვნების გამორჩეულ ნამუშევრებად. 2003 წელს მან დადგა 'ორიათასსამი" ჟენევის ბალეტისთვის,  ნაწარმოები, რომელიც "კლასიკურის და თანამედროვეს ნახავია" (Libération, 2003). 2012 წელს ის გახდა რეზიდენტი ქორეოგრაფი CERN-ში, ჟენევაში, სადაც მან შექმნა QUANTUM (2013), ნამუშევარი, რომელმაც ფართოდ იმოგზაურა მთელ მსოფლიოში. როგორც ხელოვნებისა და მეცნიერების ელჩი, ის რეგულარულად გამოდის მოწვეული ლექტორის რანგში შვეიცარიასა და მის ფარგლებს გარეთ. 2015 წელს ჟილ ჯობენმა მიიღო შვეიცარიის გრან პრი ცეკვისთვის,  კულტურის ფედერალური სამსახურის ჯილდო.

Cosmogony-ს ჩვენება თბილისში  ხორციელდება თბილისის მერიის მედიახელოვნების პროგრამის მხარდაჭერით და კინოაკადემიასთან თანამშრომლობით.

Ten years ago, the Contemporary Dance Festival in Tbilisi opened its doors for the first time, welcoming audiences to the performance of Spider Galaxies by Gilles Jobin at the Royal District Theatre.

In the decade since, much has changed in Georgia and around the world. New technologies have become integral to contemporary dance performances; artists are traveling less to reduce environmental impact and are seeking alternative ways to present their art. In this evolving landscape, Swiss choreographer and director Gilles Jobin stands out as a pioneer. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of our dance festival, we are honoured to open with his new piece, COSMOGONY. COSMOGONY is a live digital performance. Connected via the internet, the piece is performed live and remotely controlled by our team from our studio in Geneva.

Recognized for his ground breaking work in choreography, Gilles Jobin began producing dance pieces in 1995 which earned him the acclaim of both the critics and the public. He soon established himself as a leading independent choreographer in Europe. To this day, Gilles Jobin has produced over 20 works, some of which, including A+B=X (1997) and The Moebius Strip (2001), are considered benchmarks on the world stage. In 2003, he produced TWO-THOUSAND-AND-THREE for the Geneva Ballet, a work that ‘transcends the classical and the contemporary’ (Libération, 2003). In 2012, he became resident choreographer at CERN, Geneva, where he produced QUANTUM (2013), a work that travelled widely throughout the world. Ambassador for art and science, he regularly features as a guest lecturer in Switzerland and abroad. In 2015, Gilles Jobin received the Swiss Grand Award for Dance, awarded by the Federal Office of Culture.

The representation of Cosmogony in Tbilisi is carried out with the support of Media Arts Program of Tbilisi City Hall and in cooperation with the Film Academy.
